What Makes Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive Special?

When you hear the name Subaru, chances are one characteristic immediately comes to mind: Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. It's one of the most unique characteristics of the Subaru brand, and mastering it is the key to getting the most out of your time in the WRX and WRX STI at Subaru Winter Experience.

Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive is designed to keep power routed to all four wheels at all times. This system offers both exceptional traction and responsive, balanced performance for the driver, resulting in maximum control over the road at all times. It's the same idea that powered Patrik Sandell and Subaru Motorsports USA to their best rallycross season yet in 2019, as the team took America by storm with four victories and a team championship.

"There's nothing quite like Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive," said Patrik Sandell, Subaru Winter Experience founder and Subaru Motorsports USA driver. "Subaru's take on all-wheel drive is precisely what makes the balance of the WRX and WRX STI so unique, and what makes driving them so fun on the ice. Without it, Subaru Winter Experience just wouldn't be the same. The car control that Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive allows our students to develop is what makes our courses valuable to participants of all backgrounds, from pro drivers looking for more seat time to average people who are just looking to develop better winter driving skills."

Each Subaru Winter Experience course gives drivers the opportunity to try out brand new Subaru WRX STIs, WRXs, and BRZs on Dollar Lake in picturesque Eagle River, Wisconsin. Each car is equipped with specially studded tires to handle driving on the ice, while Sandell and the world’s best instructors from DirtFish are on hand to guide participants every step of the way, no matter their skill level. Subaru Winter Experience made its debut in Winter 2018 and is preparing for its third consecutive year at Dollar Lake this winter, with each year bringing more drivers than the last.

Subaru Winter Experience 2020 is almost sold out! If you have a request for a specific date not available anymore, please contact Linnea Sandell at linnea@flatoutsweden.com.
